Inauguration of IoT Lab & Avinya Club at NMIMS Shirpur
On September 14th, the IoT Lab at MPSTME, in collaboration with the Sobus Center of Excellence, NMIMS Shirpur, was officially inaugurated. This event marked a new era for the Avinya Club, a student-led initiative committed to advancing innovation in automation, robotics, and mechatronics, said Dr. Suresh Kurumbanshi, Club Incharge.
Honored guests, including Dr. Sunita Patil, Director, NMIMS Shirpur Campus, Dr. Suseelendra Desai, Dean, and Dr. Venkatadri M, Associate Dean, graced the occasion, along with faculty members and esteemed dignitaries.
The event featured the unveiling of several cutting-edge prototypes developed by Avinya Club members, showcasing their ingenuity:
- Visitor Counter Prototype – Tracks entry and exit of individuals.
- Gesture Identification System – Detects dangerous gestures during emergencies.
- Home Automation System – Controls electrical devices via mobile app.
- AI-Based Group Violence Detection System – Recognizes suspicious activity using AI.
The guests, including Mr. Chetan Patil from Sobus Center of Excellence and Dr. Ritesh Dhanare, Head of IT, provided invaluable feedback and encouragement for future projects.
